  What would happen to a JW for celebrating Christmas?

  Can you please provide independently verified evidence that a miracle worker called jesus existed and did the things that the bible says he did ?

  The four gospels were written by unknown authors many decades after the so called events.

  I knew some jws who would invite family members over for a special meal on the 25th of December including elders with the excuse being that everyone is on holiday. As long as no pagan decorations or a tree was visible nobody would bother.

  Again jws cherry picking what they considered as pagan eg decorations and tree to make themselves different from other "Christian" religions.

  Like the pagans who also believed in virgin birth, miracles like turning water into wine etc, resurrection stories, ascension stories .

  One of the few things jws were right about the pagan stories that were accepted into religions and the bible so as to include as many people as possible.

  What you find out when you do independent research into the bible and its stories.

  The earliest copy of 1st Timothy dates to the 3rd century, so no one can say with 100% certainty that what the original said because we don't have a copy to compare.

  So again all those references can't all be right but they all can be wrong.

  The oldest manuscripts containing some or all of the text of 1 st Corinthians

  Papyrus 46 ad 175 -225

  Codex Vaticanus ad 325-350

  Codex sinaiticus ad 330-360

  So no one can say with 100 % certainty what Paul wrote or that the manuscripts had not been altered or someone else had put their own interpretation on his work in the 150 + years since no one has the originals to compare it too .

  So all the different translations can't all be right but they all can be wrong.

  perhaps you considering joining the wt cult - here is a concise list of why you should not.. what the watchtower demands of you:.

  1.complete obedience to them.. 2. be willing to lose your life for zany blood teachings.. 3.put other cult members before your real family.. 4.refusal to let you leave their religion when the penny drops it's a cult.. 6.accept that they can backtrack and change any of their flip flop teachings at any time.. 7. you can't change your mind about their teachings without harsh discipline,.

  8. insistence that you humbly and quickly apologise for your mistakes and errors.. 9.gladly accept they will never be apologising for any of their mistakes or errors of judgement.. 10.accept that even ones who follow and believe in the bible, but not the governing body are worthy of destruction.. please feel free to add more..

  How you dress and grooming yourself.

  What you read ,watch and listen too .

  Don't listen to or believe outside sources, only listen to the gb they know best .

  It's like Being controlled and manipulated in a abusive relationship. I know this from a personal experience, educating myself about such behaviours gave me the courage to leave a abusive marriage and then a abusive and controlling religion.

  People are influenced by religious leaders, coerced by beliefs that are promoted by their religion.as we all were when we were jws .

  Atheism is not a belief system it's a lack of belief in a god or gods, I'm sure that you don't believe in thor ,Zeus and the other 3000 or so major gods throughout history, so you too are a atheist to these gods.

  And yes man throughout history have done evil things to other humans because of the ideology of their different beliefs.

  I have several times asked you to provide independently verified evidence that a miracle worker called jesus existed and did the things that you believed he did, you have yet to provide any verified evidence, yet you continue to promote your form of christianity as the one true religion.

  You have left one wacky doodle religion for equally wacky doodle religion.

  Please do independent research into the bible and your beliefs with a critical thinking attitude.

  You can't even provide independently verified evidence of a miracle worker called jesus, and the events that occurred at the supposed crucifixion eg temple curtain ripped in two ,darkness for three hours, earthquake and the holy ones walking out of their tombs. And that only happened about two thousand years ago .

  The Hebrew word Yom means 24 hours, a solar day ,exodus 20 : 8-11 Israel were to work for six days and rest on the 7th day "Yom " same word used in genesis. So not a thousand years.

  Majority of Christian religions believed a 150 years ago that the creation account was made up of 7 days of 24 hours period. It was only pesky science that made them change their time scale.

  So the serpent in the story didn't lie ,they didn't die in a day ,yom a 24 hour period of time.

  The Adam and eve story is a myth, there's a similar story in the epic tales of galgermesh.
